Your Dog’s Home Retreat from Home!
Kim Vitale

I owned my first German Shepherd Dog in 1990 and have been in love with this breed ever since. I owe my love of dogs and wanting to help families enjoy their companions for life, to my first GSD, VIVALDI. I taught myself how to train Vivaldi through reading training books and watching video tapes. He helped open new doors of interest in my life. I have owned up to 7 German Shepherds at one time. Many of my dogs have now passed on to Rainbows Bridge leaving an everlasting impression in my heart. My current dogs are Savannah a cattle dog, Joey a border collie/lab mix, Sedona a GSD, Cyrus a pocket pit, Maxwell a terrier mix and Pepper a terrier mix adopted in 2021 from Royce City Animal Shelter. Most all my dogs have earned their CGC and graduated from intermediate obedience at minimum. I have competed professionally in the Conformation Ring and at Obedience Trials earning various awards.
Since 1992, I have participated in rescue work in both California and Texas working with the Humane Society, local shelters, veterinarians, and rescue groups. I assisted in evaluating & training for suitable placement of these lovable dogs into permanent homes. I have published articles in the WGSDC Texas Metro Newsletter. I was also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Inc. (APDT), American Dog Owners Association, Inc. (ADOA) and White German Shepherd Dog Club International. I have trained hundreds of dogs over the years, from severely aggressive to the timidness of dogs. With a heavy heart in 2022 I retired all my training services along with rescue work.
I have owned and operated Companion K-9 Dog Services since 1997 in Texas. My goal is to keep things small scale, cage free and a home environment. Dogs are less stressed then in a typical kennel environment. Our main services are dog daycare and boarding both short term and long term. Keeping the business smaller gives us the advantage of having more one on one time with dogs that are here. We want your pets to feel as if they are part of our family and getting the attention they deserve.
Beyond Animal Lovers
It is part of Companion K-9 Dog Services’ Goal to provide your pet with love and companionship while they stay with us. As a guest, your pet will be monitored so we quickly acquaint ourselves with your dog’s routines. Our Caregivers will play with, care for and provide TLC throughout the day. Your cherished pet will have ample time to socialize with other canine guests as well as other members of Companion K-9 Dog Services’ team. To maximize your dog’s experience, we provide an abundance of toys, playtime, music and resting spots as needed! The staff members at Companion K-9 Dog Services have a real passion for animals. We have many years of experience between us (in dog years it’s off the charts) and are highly trained to provide your pet the highest level of service.

Nicole
Nicole first joined our team in the summer of 2018 while on break from college and quickly became a natural fit. With a background in animal rescue and a childhood spent on a farm, she’s always had a special connection with animals. She attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX, and continues to bring calm, capable energy to our team. You may even meet her joyful dog, Hoshi—a Husky/American Eskimo mix—who often joins us for daycare and loves to socialize and play.
In addition to her work with us, Nicole is an exceptionally talented pet photographer. You can view her work on Facebook at “Sit By My Side Pet Photography.”

Katie
She joined us in January 2023, with experience working at Collin County Animal Shelter since 2016. She helped with walking dogs and keeping the dog areas clean. She has one dog, Tye, a Schnauzer/Scottie mix, and a chinchilla named Ace.

Samuel
